Exploring Climate Patterns Embedded in Global Climate Change Datasets
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper aims to explore the analysis of climate patterns embedded in the Global Climate Data Sets generated by the Community Climate System Model (CCSM) for the 4 Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Report for Climate Change (IPCC). A Geographic Information Systems (GIS) approach is taken to examine spatiotemporal correlates among climate processes and to draw insights into their relationships and responses to climate change scenarios. With foci on El Nino southern Oscillation (ENSO) events and precipitation anomalies, the research explores three CCSM cases from worst-case, average, and conservative CO2 emission scenarios, respectively. The scenarios used are A2: continental economic regions dominate with an economic focus (representing a worst case scenario), B1: a global economy with environmental focus (representing an average scenario), CC: CO2 levels are stable at the current level (representing the best case scenario). GIS methods were used to examine the spatial and temporal development of precipitation anomalies under these three scenarios. A GIS spatiotemporal object growth classification scheme is proposed and then developed further in this paper. Further research is proposed to further the development and use of the GIS spatiotemporal object growth classification scheme.

In recent years, global warming and climate change have been associated with dire consequences for human societies. Changes in climate patterns can lead to severe floods, extreme heat and cold, more frequent droughts, and global warming. This increase in global warming has upset the Earthchr('39')s climate balance and caused widespread climate change in most parts of the world, known as climate...
متن کاملClimate Variability Impacts on Land Use and Livelihoods in Drylands
This edited volume is devoted to the examination of the implications of the inevitable changes wrought by global change on the welfare and livelihoods of tens of millions of people who live in dryland regions. Global change is more than just climate change and the ramifications of changing trade patterns (geopolitical and economic aspects), the shift to the market economy, demographic factors (...

Introduction: Climate changes are one of the factors associated with human activities for the destruction of the ecosystem. This factor leads to global warming, changing rainfall patterns, increasing the amount and severity of climate factors such as storms, and rising sea levels. Parasites are also an integral part of this ecosystem; therefore, the present study considered the effect of climat...
متن کاملQuantifying the Likelihood of Regional Climate Change: A Hybridized Approach
The growing need for risk-based assessments of impacts and adaptation to climate change calls for increased capability in climate projections: specifically, the quantification of the likelihood of regional outcomes and the representation of their uncertainty. Herein, the authors present a technique that extends the latitudinal projections of the 2D atmospheric model of the Massachusetts Institu...
